Bitcoin in History
A Bitcoin Overview
To really understand a system like Bitcoin in its entirety, you’ll need to understand decentralization. However, these decentralized networks are built off of cryptography, so let’s first be sure that we have a solid understand of the building blocks. We covered one fundamental piece of bitcoin in lesson two, hashing. And here we’ll cover two more, asymmetric cryptography, and signing and verifying.
Welcome to Blockchain Institute’s Bitcoin for Developers series of courses. This series was created for experienced developers who are comfortable in a UNIX based command line and want to learn how to work with blockchain technology, specifically the Bitcoin Blockchain Network. If you are new to Bitcoin or haven’t already browsed through Blockchain 101 and/or Blockchain Security, now would be a great time!
In the Bitcoin for Developers Part I course we’ll be covering the following topics:
- How the Bitcoin blockchain works
- Brief mining overview
- Asymmetric Cryptography
- Hash Functions
- Governance and Forks
Future series will cover Bitcoin transactions, scripting, and integrating payments. Blockchain Institute will also be offering courses covering Scaling and the Lightning Network!
Let’s get started!
